Questions parents ask AI
- "best CBSE schools in [area]"
- "British curriculum schools in Dubai with fees under AED 40,000"
- "[school] KHDA rating" or "[school] fees 2026–27"
- "schools near [area] with good board results"
What AI reads about a school
- Inspection ratings: KHDA in Dubai, ADEK in Abu Dhabi, SPEA in Sharjah. In India, board affiliation (CBSE, ICSE, state boards) and results.
- Fees, curriculum and age range, ideally on the school's own site.
- The Google Business Profile: category, reviews and photos.
- School directory and comparison sites, which AI quotes often.
What we found checking 36 schools in the UAE
In October 2026, TrustCited checked how ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Perplexity describe 36 Indian-curriculum schools across Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Ajman and the northern emirates. School names are withheld. Typical problems:
- A school's Google listing was categorised as a "Swim club".
- Perplexity told parents a school was "typically" rated Good, while the regulator's own listing showed Very Good.
- ChatGPT left a school's KHDA rating blank, although the school was rated Good.
- ChatGPT ranked a school second, but took its rating and fees from directory sites, not the school's pages.
- Several schools were described only as the budget option, with nothing about results or programmes.
The fixes that usually matter most
- One plain "at a glance" page with the current inspection rating, fees, curriculum, age range and results.
- The correct primary category and full details on the Google Business Profile.
- The same facts on the main directory and comparison sites parents use.
- A short page on strengths beyond fees: results, programmes, facilities.
A K-12 school in India went from being named in 17% of AI answers to 73% in about five months. Read the case study.
